

Academic Programme in Diplomatic Studies, a tripartite collaboration between the Institute of Diplomatic Studies associated with the Faculty of History of the University of Bucharest, the University of Rome III and the Political Observatory, with the expression of the intention of institutional collaboration of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities and the Faculty of Law of the New University of Lisbon.
The programme is the initiative of Prof. Armando Marques Guedes, Associate Professor with Aggregation at the Faculty of Law of the New University of Lisbon, whose proposal was accepted by the Political Observatory to be the Portuguese partner of the Faculty of History of the University of Bucharest, which has created an Institute of Diplomatic Studies for this purpose, and of which Armando Marques Guedes is Honorary Professor, a collaboration initiated within the framework of his duties as President of the Portuguese Diplomatic Institute.
During the first visit to Portugal by representatives of the History Faculty of the University of Bucharest, accompanied by Professors Armando Marques Guedes and Cristina Montalvão Sarmento, a preliminary programme for the MA in Politics and Diplomacy was drawn up, to be presented to the University of Rome III, which signed its intention to join on 25 June 2010. The internal national procedures for the approval of the respective programme in the three countries will have to be followed.
