The Political Observatory was present at the international meeting <\/span>Conference on Social Theory, Politics and the Arts (STPA)<\/a>, that took place between October 18 and 20, 2012, at Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, USA.<\/span><\/p>\n

This presence included the participation of several members of the Political Observatory’s research group on Politics and Culture, who will present the panel “Politics of Culture: the Portuguese and the European Cases”.<\/p>\n

The beginning of the 21st century is marked by highly complex geographical, political, and social changes.\u00a0It is also from this context that the possibility of innovative approaches to cultural diversity opens up.<\/p>\n

Among others, there were panels dedicated to the following topics:<\/p>\n

1. Cultural regions and nation-states
2. Historical narratives and minorities
3.\u00a0Public Policies for Culture
4. Museology and heritage
5. Cultural Diplomacy<\/p>\n
