On October 1, 2025, the Political Observatory presents: “The Fog in the Geopolitics of the Middle East.” This is an initiative of the Political Observatory organized in coordination with researcher Corina Lozovan (IEP-UCP).<\/p>\n

The transition toward a multipolar order intensifies rivalry among the United States, China, and Russia, while actors such as Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Turkey expand their autonomy.<\/p>\n The diversification of alliances and the multi-vector diplomacy of Arab states express new logics of influence and cooperation, challenging the traditional security architecture. At the same time, the instrumentalization of the economy is reshaping interests and power balances.<\/p>\n Equally significant is the way the Middle East is portrayed in the media, often through the lenses of conflict, energy politics, and security threats, thereby obscuring internal dynamics of reform and innovation. Such narratives shape international perception, influence political and diplomatic debate, and condition the very identity of local actors within the global system.<\/p>\n In this still uncertain context, where the fog of geopolitics blurs the contours of the international order, crucial questions arise: what role will regional actors play? What strategies will shape the future of global influence in the Gulf?
