From June 30th to July 1st, 2022, members of the Political Observatory participated in the conference: Visual Storytelling. From Mural to the Digital, organized by the University of Aveiro, in Aveiro, Portugal. With the presence of Cristina Montalvão Sarmento, Patrícia Oliveira and Carlos Vargas. In 2024, as a result from this conference, the book Visual Storytelling in the 21st Century: The Age of the Long Fragment, edited by David Callahan, was published. It contains the chapter “Voices of Graffiti in Urban Settings: Symbolic Contestation and Political Narratives” (pp. 131-152) by Patrícia Oliveira, Carlos Vargas, Cristina Montalvão Sarmento.
